Of love and repetition

My realization:

Because here is the saddest thing-- belief in it comes and goes.

But I think Love is like liturgy-
there is always something gained,
even in the rote practice of it.

No one much likes liturgy these days.

  1. I think the beauty of liturgy is that it makes us invest in it and dwell on the centuries' old words. To enjoy liturgy is to commit and to think. It turns the focus of worship from how we feel as worshippers to the true focus of worship on how majestic and glorious God is. It is less selfish and more "other" focused. Perhaps this is what you were getting at with this post? Or maybe that's just what I got from it. :)
